2012 Awards Dinner

Fair Lawn PBA Local 67 recently held its Annual Awards Dinner to honor its members for meritorious acts that occurred during 2011. Please scroll down to see the list of recipients for the year 2011.

Lt. Robert V. Kneer organized a detail to catch a suspected car thief with the assistance of Det. Timothy O'Shaughnessy and P.O. Anthony Lugo. The team observed the suspect enter the Borough of Fair Lawn, via Broadway, and steal a car. The suspect was apprehended after a brief foot and car chase.

Officers responded to a call of three suspicious males outside of a home, who were making their way inside. As the Officers entered the home, they discovered the suspects hiding in a shower, as well as  a handgun on the shower floor. The officers were awarded the Honorable Service Award. P.O. Luis Vasquez and P.O. Christopher Siano arrived on a scene and found Barry Friedman not breathing. The Officers performed CPR/defibrillation and saved Mr. Friedman's life.  Both Officers were presented with the Lifesaving Medal. Pictured below (l to r): Sgt. Joseph Dawicki, P.O. Det/Sgt. Brian Metzler, Sgt. Lonnie Mergler and P.O. Sean Nagle arrived on the scene and found a man lying face down on 2nd Street. The Officers performed CPR/defibrillation and saved his life.   The above four officers responded to a gun call where two handguns were recovered from two different vehicles.

  The above nine officers responded on a report of a barricaded subject inside of a residence. When officers arrived the subject exited the home with a shotgun.

  For their interaction with a prescription fraud incident that ultimately resulted into Sgt. Messina being run down by the suspects in a vehicle while attempting to flee. Both suspects were captured.
